= The product of the length of the inclined waist slab x width of the waist slab (width of the step) x thickness of waist slab
= 9’ x 4’ x 6”
= 18 cubic feet.
The Concrete volume for steps
Given that the steps are in a triangular shape, the volume of each step must be determined using the following calculation :-
= ½ x tread x riser x step length
= ½ x 10” x Six” x Four
= 0.84 cubic feet
As there are Nine numbers of the steps in a flight, the concrete volume for steps of the 1st flight should be as follow :-
= Nine x 0.84
= 7.56 cubic feet
Hence, the overall volume of concrete required for the initial flight of the staircase must be determined :-
= Waist slab Of concrete + steps concrete
= Eighteen + 7.56
= 25.56 cubic feet
Concrete volume for Second flight of staircase
Suppose, First flight and Second flight are identical, therefore a concrete volume is also same i.e. 25.56 cubic feet
